BEST OBSERVATION DECKS IN ROME
🔭 You can view the main attractions and beauties of the ancient city of Rome from any of these viewing platforms:
✅ The dome of St Peter’s Cathedral, located at an altitude of 120 metres. From here you can enjoy stunning views of the Vatican, the Holy Angel Castle, the Tiber River, gardens and residential areas.
✅ Capitoline Hill. Located in the heart of Rome. The observation deck has a good view of the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill. There are also the palaces of senators and conservators, the Church of Santa Maria in Aracoeli and the square decorated with the statue of Marcus Aurelius.
✅ Janiculum Hill. Located on the western bank of the Tiber in the Trastavere area. There are two viewpoints here. The monument to the first king of United Italy, Vittoriano, and the Pantheon which can be seen from here. And even the Apennine Mountains can be distinguished in the sunny weather.
✅ Pincian Hill. There are also several viewing platforms in Villa Borghese Park, which offer a stunning view of the Piazza del Popolo, the Egyptian obelisk and the fountain with 4 lions.
✅ Tower of the Militia.  It is one of Rome’s tallest buildings. It has nothing to do with the law enforcement agencies. Its name comes from the Latin word “militia”, which means “national home guard”. It now belongs to a Dominican monastery.
✅ Orange Gardens. Located in a park on the Aventine Hill, from where you can see the Church of Gianicolo, Trastevere, the Tiber neighborhood and the Jewish quarter. It is the best place for romantic dates and to admire the city’s chic views.
